The Farrington Governors Girls Basketball team continues to roll up victories in the Oahu Interscholastic Association with wins this season over defending division 2 state champions Kaimuki 42-40, Kahuku 69-49, Roosevelt 54-41, Castle 68-36 and Moanalua 60-50.
Farrington has won these games utilizing balanced scoring in an upbeat flow. Kristen-Marie Liana and Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo have performed brilliantly in scoring, rebounding and passing to open teammates. The pair says they are aiming to bring a third straight OIA title back to Farrington.
“We look forward to strong challenges this season,” Liana said. “We know that teams will want to play their best against us so we will have to be ready to play each and every game.” Tatupu-Leopoldo added, “We are striving to play our best at all times. We want to be league champions once again.” Next up for Farrington is the prestigious Iolani Classic this December 9-11. The Classic will feature teams from China, California, Tennessee and Konawaena of the Big Island. Farrington will play the Bera Olinda Wildcats from California in the opening round of the tourney.
